![]() But speaking personally, I have never lost a dino in transfer since these refinements were brought in a few years ago. When someone asks me what the fastest creatures on the island are, Gallimimus is always a contender. As I said above there are probably still edge-case issues, and having a backup is advised at all times even when not transferring anything. But now, after they have been refined, this fix was added to make them reappear the the obelisk. It's just moved.īack in the past when transfers were new, this did indeed delete the dino. But it is still there, it hasn't vanished. But if I don't move the rex when downloading the yuty, the yuty fails to spawn, and moves from above the daedons in my list, to appear below the daedons instead. So for example, say I uploaded a rex, a yuty, and two daedons, they appear in that order in my obelisk. However in my experience, if a creature is blocked, it will not be lost - it will just remain in the obelisk for you to download again, but it's name will be reset to the bottom of the list as if it was the last one you uploaded. Moving the first away from the terminal before selecting a second prevents this from being an issue. This is very true - sometimes if you download one, then try to get another right after, the first one is still blocking the spawn area so the game has nowhere to put the second one. Originally posted by Captain Pansy:download them one by one, and after every download, bring your downloaded one away from the terminal. That way, if you do lose anything in transfer, you can load the backup where your tame will still be contained in the map save file, then you can transfer it over again and you won't have lost it permanently. ![]() Having said that, it's impossible to account for every single edge-case, so it is always worth backing up your map save before you start uploading, just in case. I have never lost a tame through uploads in the past 2 or 3 years playing the game, either in my solo games or on my private server. However fixes and checks have been put in place, and now it is far, far more reliable. Back when uploads were first introduced it was very buggy and losing tames was common. ![]() It should also be noted that the uploading has improved an awful lot since this thread was first made. If you are on single player, non-dedicated, or a non-clustered server, only ever upload your dinos using the obelisk upload option. So when you get your creature out on the other side, it could potentially be reset to level 1 and lose all of it's wild and tamed levels it had. Never try to transfer filled cryopods if you are not on a cluster - you could fall victim to one of two scenarios:ġ) Cryopods lose a huge amount of durability when uploaded to the obelisk, so there's a chance it could run out of power and the creature inside will die.Ģ) If you are not on a cluster server, creature stats in cryopods are saved in a different manner to cluster saves, and some data may be lost. Word of warning on this - transferring tames in cryopods only works on clustered servers. If you transfer in 2021 and are not using cryopods, there really isnt anyone to blame but yourself. Originally posted by Samadhi:Apart from being a massive necro, your post is irrelevant as this 2017 thread was made before cryopods were introduced. I think the creatures disapearing has something to do with other Dinosaurs being in combat near the obelisk or with the creature you are tyring to upload. It takes a bunch of time and it doesn't always work, but it gives you an idea of whether or not they are gonna download. If the test creature safely downloads, clear the obelisk of any creatures and try to download the actual creature. The only workaround I foun for online servers is to upload a test creature before you upload the intended creature. ![]() If youre playing single player always backup your playerlocalprofile file before transfering stuff to another server. I didn't realize this at first, because it was at my army at the first transfer to Ragnarok (started playing SE). (although it was level 65, not THAT high, but my highest atm, I had a feeling, this would happen.) Uploading in SE, playing 10 Mins Ragnarok and downloading again in SE in second case.)īecause of this, I didn't upload my griffin, but a lowly Lymantria. (downloading from Ragnarok to SE in first case. Lost a Frog and a lymantria through this bug. Originally posted by westy.fan:same issue.
